I hadn’t ever heard Shep narrate the Red Ryder story either; thanks, Mike! I have heard a show that’s called Flick’s Tongue–it’s on one of the archive.org pages of Jean Shepherd shows–and I think it’s even funnier than the actual movie A Christmas Story. There’s also a great one about his first day of kindergarten when his teacher insisted his name must be Eugene and she got him all confused. What a fascinating storyteller he was.
