  1. No ice maker….wow! We have one in our freezer. I like it and haven’t noticed a difference in the taste between the ice maker and making ice cubes myself. Ice makers have improved since your grandparents had one. I’m sure that making your own ice cubes is easier on the budget in the long run though. Good for you 🙂

    The alarms you experience in the building remind me of the car alarms that go off all the time. No one pays attention anymore because we’ve become so used to hearing them go off for no reason. What a shame for when something really happens…

    My opinion on the battery in your alarm clock… it’s there to retain settings when the power goes out and that’s all.
