Happy Birthday, Frank! I was just listening to this episode from September 25 and heard you mention that October 3 is your birthday, and I thought, “Holy Moly, that’s today!” 😀
That thing you mentioned, where you picture different places from your past? That happens to me too. For me it’s generally triggered by a specific action. For instance, over the last month, every time I shave I get a mental picture of my wife and me riding in my father-in-law’s van to a 50th birthday party for one of Anne’s uncles… which happened over two years ago. There’s no apparent connection between the two, but there it is anyway.
And pretty much every time I go onto the Gallifrey Base Doctor Who forum, I get a mental picture of my grandmother’s house (which has since been torn down), as if I were walking back and forth through her yard. At least for that one I know it’s probably because when I was a kid just really getting into Doctor Who, I stayed with my grandma a lot when my parents were working.
There are others, but those are two that really stand out for me lately. This has happened to me since childhood. It’s weird, but I’ve gotten used to it and in fact I kinda like it; it’s strangely comforting. 🙂
Cheers!
