  2. Ah, those Hammer Frankenstein pictures! Actually, ‘Evil of Frankenstein’ isn’t quite as bad as many people make out, but it is an oddity in the series. It was bankrolled by Universal and consequently comes off as Hammer’s attempt at a classic Universal-style horror film, (even down to the monster make-up). It has no real continuity with the rest of the Hammer series (it even has a different ‘origin’ story to ‘Curse’, told in flashback). ‘Frankenstein Created Woman’ is definitely the best of the series – barking mad, but true to its own internal plot logic!
