scottlo calling – episode 004 (11/15/12)

56:09 - In the course of recording this tribute to yesterday’s mega-news about the word of the year (the verb form of GIF), an important and disorienting insight flashed in my mind’s eye like the reflection of a neon gas station sign rippling across a puddle of spilled petrol on the pavement as the country radio station crackles from the office in the first moments after sunset on a warm and humid late summer evening. The insight being that the process of recording these wandering wonderings is not unlike the process of assembling an animated GIF. But then again, it’s not entirely the same either.

Beyond that, everything else remains for the listener to discover in due course.
