SITFUSO Compendium (2000–2005) [released 3/16/25]

2:32:16 – Comedy audio show SITFUSO, by Charles Daniels and Israel Brown, has been mentioned innumerable times on my show, The Overnightscape, and I’m thrilled to finally add it to the Onsug Radio archive in the form of this compendium. Israel Brown was a stalwart listener and contributor in the early days of The Overnightscape. He was a guest on the show several times (twice with Charles Daniels), and in more recent years he’s appeared on Overnightscape Central and The Exit Ramp.

The absurd, surreal, and (at times very) adult-oriented humor of SITFUSO, in the vein of Monty Python and The Goon Show, is a unique example of pre-podcasting original audio content on the Internet. Many thanks to Israel for giving the go-ahead to add it to the archive.

This compendium contains all 6 regular epsiodes, the Christmas Special, and a bonus Introductory Piece. SITFUSO’s website is still up and running, at sitfuso.com, and contains a great deal of additional information about the show. You can find more of Charles’ work at whoguide.com.

Enjoy!

– Frank Edward Nora, 3/16/25

INTRODUCTION (from sitfuso.com):
SITFUSO is a comedic audio programme created by Charles Daniels which is available for streaming/download over the internet. The name of the show comes from the well known computer term GIGO, “Garbage In, Garbage Out.” It was adapted by Israel Brown in his frustration with his computer into the new term SITFUSO, “Shit In, Totally Fucked Up Shit Out.” Charles Daniels fell in love with the term and thus it came to his mind to use this coinage of Israel’s as the title for the programme.

THE SITFUSO CAST (from sitfuso.com):
Charles Daniels: Creator of SITFUSO and lord of the “wheelie things”. Definitely not a real Police officer of any kind. Israel Brown: Script Editor, Web Designer, Audio Engineer, etc. Be sure that you don’t get within reach of this man. Andrew Hobbs: Jim, Sketch Writer, Other stuff. Probably would kill me (if I didn’t live 3 states away) for using this picture because he normally looks a lot better. Claire Daniels: The Women and Hitler. She married Charles. I think that about sums up her sanity.

Tape Land 181 – Two Days in 2006 (with Greg, Rob, Ruben, Steve, Frank, and Jeff) (6/18-19/06) [released 3/9/25]

2:46:37 – Welcome to Tape Land! On each episode, I’ll present the audio of a cassette tape or historic material from my personal archives.

Peer back into the early days of podcasting!

Over the years I have added the back archives of a number of different shows to Onsug Radio, and when I do, I add each episode to the “Grand Chronology”, a list of shows by release date. After recently adding “The Obtuse Angle” to the archive, I saw that around mid-2006, there were five different shows running around that time. I tried looking for one day on which all five shows had an episode, but that didn’t occur. But I did find a two-day span in which all five shows had an episode – Sunday, June 18 and Monday, June 19. Presented here, is those five episodes.

It’s an amazing snapshot of the early days of podcasting – just like listening to a series podcasts on your “podcatcher” 19 years ago!
