Part Two: Riding the PATCO train into Philadelphia, weird mall corridors, on the streets of Philadelphia, Freedom Center, having lunch at Gigi on the sidewalk on Market St., a glimpse of the Liberty Bell, trying to find the train station, bizarre and dreamlike convention center/mall/train station, belly tickle incident, coffee art at Burlington Coat Factory, feeling like it really is all a dream, getting on the SEPTA train back to Trenton, graffiti, parking garage, going to Quakerbridge Mall, mall memories, Halloween store, beggar, and a bite to eat before heading home.

Part One: Driving down Rt. 206 to Trenton, bad area, parking, Trenton Transportation Center, lunch, heading over to The River Line light rail, on The River Line, train goes on highways and streets in a town, delay – getting off the train and onto a hot and stifling bus, back onto the train, arrival in Camden (most dangerous city in America), ghost town, last stop – Entertainment Center, Walter Reed Transportation Center, and heading down to the PATCO train platform heading to Philadelphia…

47:43 Met up with old High School Classmates, driving through Elizabeth with Sue and Mario, remembering all the old shops in the business district, The fake old building, homeless guy comes into school, passing by sights shown in The Wrestler, Farmers Market, Sues butcher shop trama, Sues soccer mom car, Cafe Cream Cigars, driving by our High School, Mario wants the Dans Camera sign, Kids today can’t roam the street like we used to, Elizabeth High still looking good after 32 years, Police blockade, High School out of control these days, Food fight turns into riot, VoTech School sinking into the ground, driving through the Bayway Circle thats not a circle anymore, Mickey Spillane,  Marios artwork still on the school wall, all new schools in Elizabeth, Marios old house-844 Garden St, Bowling alley to Burger King in a week, Girls in Skirts,  Going to see Metropolis at the Zigfield in NYC, The scene of the Deans List Party, The Burg symbol, passing my old house=229 Palmer St, DeCosmos Italian Ice,  2 Marios on Facebook, Spirito lasagna, recaping the night while driving home, GM factory, Merck.

The Brian Jude Show #44: Dr. Awesome and The Union (10/21/10)

50:48 – I have been working for the past three weeks at the Bergen Arts and Science Charter School, where I have been subbing for the same 3rd grade teacher. It’s rough, but the kids like me so much, they call me Dr. Awesome! I also talk about my experience seeing the CD release concert for Elton John & Leon Russell’s “The Union,” interacting with Bernie Taupin, Whoopi Goldberg & Cameron Crowe, Fear on 21st, Yeeshai Gross, Sleepy Hollow’s Halloween Parade, last week’s UFO’s, the 33 Miners, Masons, Jesus, Melanie’s birthday present has not happened yet, participating in PurpleStride to help fight Pancreatic Cancer in honor of my friend Lance, Corn Mo. Concludes with “Road to the River” by Friday’s Child (used with permission).
