A Career In The Weeklies

A Career In The Weeklies was created by Marc Gorcey in Toronto, Canada. It was released on Toronto-based Internet radio station UMFM.net, from 2003 to 2005.

I was a fan of the series – it left a big impression on me. But a few years later, I noticed it was no longer available online. So I contacted Marc Gorcey, and he gave me permission to re-release the show, so that more people would be able to experience it.

I am very happy to be able to present this show to you on The Overnightscape Underground Archive.

Listen to the whole series now, on Archive.org.

Republic of Avalon Radio – Episode 118 – Bound Down For Nova Scotia (9/13/12)

20:11 – I Still Remember is the working title of a full-length documentary that Lillian is  producing about Jim, his life and his music. Lillian has set up an Indigogo campaign in order to raise funds for a trip to Halifax. Jim has been invited to attend and perform at a special tribute and ceremony to commemorate the School for the Blind in Halifax on September 28th, 2012. Jim attended the school from 1974 to 1983 and it was torn down in 1984.

This trip will enable us to gather vital information and interviews for the documentary. We will interview Jim’s first music teacher, his bandmates and friends. The funds will be used mainly for transportation costs in getting us from St. John’s, Newfoundland to Halifax and back. Anything over and above will be used in the making of the film.

The campaign ends on September 24th and there are lots of perks for those who contribute to the campaign.
