The Frank Nora Time Machine – Hosted by Jimbo – (4/25/15) 007

(49:42) – Welcome to The Frank Nora Time Machine (Hosted by Jimbo)

Get ready to hear some of the best all-time bits of Frank Edward Nora. Some of the bits here just last seconds, some a few minutes… but none of them last 263 days – (roughly the time it would take someone to listen to every Frank Nora story.)

Frank has fascinating stories, commutes and works in a great city, reviews malls, odd snacks and drinks. Jimbo adds his own two cents in various and sundry ways, and together, they make this series one of  the most unique  you have ever heard.

• Introduction, from The Overnightscape #26 (9/4/03) the bizarre magic shop in Oldwick NJ

• From The Overnightscape #27 (9/11/03) (Not included. This is an important episode with Frank’s reflections on 9/11 and the World Trade Center. Please listen to this episode as a standalone.)

• From The Overnightscape #28 (9/18/03) nada…

• From The Overnightscape #29 (9/25/03) cigars.1/v,  cigars.2/v

• From  The Overnightscape #30 (10/2/03) the hatch/v.picture show

• From The Overnightscape #31 (10/9/03) autumn fall, chanting curse on the Red Sox/J – the curse on Uncle Curtis, the very ambiguous musical piece from Frank’s random music generator, hypnopompic state/v.junk from Volume 3, personal triumph/v.book for Sade

The Frank Nora Time Machine – Hosted by Jimbo – (4/22/15) 006

(51:50) – Welcome to The Frank Nora Time Machine (hosted by Jimbo)

Laugh along with Jimbo as he treats us to the best all-time bits of Frank Nora. Some of these bits last seconds, some a few minutes… but none of them lasts 263 days – (roughly the time it would take someone to listen to every Frank Nora story.)

Frank has fascinating stories, commutes and works in a great city, reviews malls, odd snacks and drinks; meanwhile that crazy Jimbo character adds some of his own comments and will pull a rabbit out his wide-brimmed hat at times.

Introduction, from The Overnightscape #22 (8/7/03) Metro Park Train Station, hard cider/v.card games, bad car-parker

From The Overnightscape #23 (8/14/03) chili cheese karma

From The Overnightscape #24 (8/21/03) dream about sushi and hospital/v.hospital, school play as a ”flower”/v.ditto

From The Overnightscape #25 (8/28/03) meteor showers and donuts/J, psychic meeting place, time travel thoughts/v.four year-old unopened letter, Jimbo says ”bye”

The Night Pool #14 (4/21/15)

3:59:02 – Take a deep dive into The Overnightscape Underground (Onsug) Archive…

Onsug is a massive collection of audio – currently over 6,400 tracks, totaling over 263 days (over 8.5 months) of audio. But what’s in the archive? What does it sound like?

I chopped each audio track into 5-minute clips, resulting in over 75,000 of these segments. By playing them in random order, we can deeply explore what’s inside the archive, to get an idea of what it contains.

The Night Pool is just like drifting though all these random thoughts and ideas, soundscapes and songs, conversations and rants… no hosting, no context… just a pleasant swim though the humble weirdness of Onsug…
