Rubenerd Show 385: The Jeffersonian Keynsham episode (12/3/18)

31:36 – An homage to The Overnightscape episode Mother’s New Mineral Dream. Talking about white walls everywhere in new buildings, 1970s era shopping malls, struggles with junk, Staten Island, and personally generated media. Because you can’t take it with you. Cover art of the Metropolitan Museum of Art taken from Clara’s and my trip to NYC in 2016.

Recorded in Sydney, Australia. Licence for this track: Creative Commons Attribution 3.0. Attribution: Ruben Schade.

Released December 2018 on Rubenerd and The Overnightscape Underground, an Internet talk radio channel focusing on a freeform monologue style, with diverse and fascinating hosts.

Tape Land 72 – Vermont… nothing (August 2004)

19:12 – Welcome to Tape Land! On each episode, I’ll present the audio of a cassette tape from my collection. It’s a way to help motivate me to digitize more of my archives.

Unintelligible conversation in a car. Subway. By a road. Zipper. Walking. On a bus. Nature sounds. Walking. Cars driving by. Thunderstorm. Phone call. Power strip. Bus lane security.

DS10: Ghost Stories (11/30/18)

45:24 – As the nights draw in and Winter approaches, we gather around a crackling fire to recount (and sometimes debunk) tales of ghost ships, while the master of the ghost story, Algernon Blackwood himself, joins us to tell his chilling tale ‘Lock Your Door’.  Why do ghost stories continue to fascinate us?  Does everyone have a ghostly experience to share?  Where are the modern ghost stories of the haunted world wide web?

(Apologies for the quality of the Algernon Blackwood segments – they are audio from a 1949 short film, now in the public domain).
