Schlock Express – Nasty Videos (10/28/15)

1:05:56 – This time we journey into the murky world of 1980s direct-to-video releases, the last resort of Britain’s beleaguered exploitation film industry.  Taking in sex crazed killer computers, video nasty inspired psycho-killers and brutal gang warfare in Manchester’s clubland, we explore the careers of three of the UK’s most prolific, yet least known, film makers.  From down-on-his-luck old pro Derek Ford via low budget maestro Michael J Murphy, the Express winds its way to the lost movie making empire of the legendary Cliff Twemlow.

Saved From Oblivion (023) – Escape: Three Skeleton Key (10/28/15)

RenderedImage (31:01) Just in time for Halloween, the classic, “Three Skeleton Key”. This is horror at it’s finest, but it isn’t ghosts or goblins that are cast as the cruelest foe, but rather, little furry animals (hint: they’re not ‘Japanese Pocket Squirrels’).

This may have been Vincent Price’s first ‘horror’ role; though I’m not sure. What I am sure of is that this show will scare the pants off you.

Do you listen to Saved from Oblivion? How about leaving a comment and letting me know? It will be appreciated.

Saved From Oblivion (022) – Gunsmoke: Home Surgery (10/27/15)

RenderedImage (31:07) It’s time again for another old-time radio treasure. This one from the Gunsmoke series.

Sheriff Matt Dillon must take matters into his own hands out on the prairie when a settler needs dire medical attention. Not only that, but listen carefully how Chester, Matt’s pseudo-deputy, is left to clean up the mess afterwards. I’m sure that was fun.

A very serious episode with a bit of an underlying mystery.
