I like Spam too! Sliced thinly and then fried. It is a bit salty though! The Cheese Whiz reminded me of a kinda funny story. A buddy and I stopped by a super high-end boutique grocery story a few years ago. They had a special cheese counter with about a 1000 kinds of cheese. (FYI even though I’m from Wisconsin I would struggle to name more than 3 type of cheese! American, Swiss, Cheddar, um, um, ?) Attending the counter was a guy in chef’s outfit (white hat, white apron, etc) and he would cut and package your cheese for you. I offered my buddy $5 if he would go up to the counter and ask the guy for “Cheese Whiz”. He did and the guy in the chef’s hat gave a sort on condescending smile and said “a, no….” We laughed (but he didn’t!).

Here’s the way I fix Spam:
Thinly sliced. Fried. Add American cheese and fried egg on sandwich bread. Maybe mayo (sometimes I use mayo, sometimes not).
But as I have explained before, Spam is something I can only eat every now and then – maybe once a month.
Another good thing to do: cube up some spam (1/2″ cubes) and meanwhile, prepare some quality mac and cheese from the box, throw out 1/4th of the macaroni (yes, throw it away!). As you are boiling the water for the macaroni, throw in the spam. Then make the mac and cheese as normal. A satisfying treat!
