  1. Sade sounds pleasant enough at the beginning, as you say, but I think I detect a little spitefulness coming through when she says, “Next time I see Mis’ Keller, I’m going to ‘thank’ her!” as if she had just figured out Mis’ Keller’s nefarious plot to get the long distance charges put on the Gooks’ bill.

As for the argument about the proper steps to make this particular long distance call, I bet any one of the four could have completed the call successfully his or her own way, had not the others been contradicting them throughout the process. What’s that old saying about “Too many Gooks”?

  3. Too many cooks!, why I practically mailed my undershirt via UPS overnight delivery to Mobile Alabama after reading that one.

  8. I’ve been to Reds games in Crosley Field, Riverfront, Cinergy Field, and Great American Ballpark, but nowadays I just plop myself down in front of the big-screen HDTV. I saw Votto play for the Louisville AAA farm team before he ever got called up to the Reds. I’m always mesmerized by his plate appearances.

  9. Do you listen to ONSUG other than the Vic and Sadecast?

  10. I’ve been sampling it here and there. I listened to your show about foreign films earlier. It surprised me that “Blowup” was included, because I never really thought of it as being foreign. I mean, I know Antonioni is Italian, but it’s an English-language movie. I guess maybe it’s foreign because it was made in England, although by that criterion “Eyes Wide Shut” would be a foreign film, despite being a Warner Bros. release, set in New York, with American stars and an American director.
