The Brian Jude Show: Excerpts from “The Miracle Man” Screenplay Reading, January 2, 2011 (1/4/11)

Selections from a public reading of a narrative feature film, “The Miracle Man,” based on the true and incredibly uplifting story of Morris E. Goodman. Presented at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair, NJ by the UU Montclair Theatre Group. (And hey, Frank was there! Thanks, Frank!)

Morris Goodman was a successful insurance salesman. So successful, he bought himself his own airplane. On March 10, 1981, his during first solo flight in his new craft, the engine stopped, and he crashed the plane, crushing his spine, leaving him unable to walk, talk, swallow, breathe or move any part of his body except for his eyes. His doctors believed he would live a short, meaningless life, if he survived at all.

Morris had different plans…

What Morris had was his mind, and his faith that one day he would walk out on his own two feet, and make a full recovery, no matter what his doctors told him. Using the same step-by-step, goal-oriented approach he took in his career, Morris began to calculate the steps he needed to make toward recovery. He set a goal to be home by Christmas of that same year. He succeeded before Thanksgiving, just eight months after the accident…

If you have ever seen “The Secret,” you’ll know his amazing story. If you haven’t, you can see a clip of Morris telling his story in it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfKn92klPeU

You can also view clips from a short film that was made in the 1980’s and learn more about Morris on his own site at http://themiracleman.org

I have interviewed Morris E. Goodman and have the rights to his story for a motion picture. I need development funds for legal fees, casting fees, professional script consultants, budget analyses, festival and contest submissions, travel expenses and more.

I firmly believe this film will not only entertain, but also encourage people to evaluate their own lives and take the steps they need to take to achieve their goals. After all, this is exactly what Morris’ story has done for me.

Won’t you help bring this uplifting tale to the big screen and inspire millions worldwide? Please visit http://tinyurl.com/miraclemanfund to contribute.

Thank you so much for your involvement!!!

Sincerely,
Brian Jude

The Brian Jude Show: NON-SUG Bundle #3 (Nov. – Dec. 2009)

3:08:12 – Just in time for Pagan Thanksgiving, here’s the next in my series of episodes that were previously unreleased on the Overnightscape Underground channel. This was a very transformative period in my life. Check out the moment during which I realized and declare that I want to start working on a feature film, how my mentality changes after I discovered “The Secret,” and my thoughts on 2010 being the Year of Abundance! But of course, it all starts with gratitude…

Also look for the supplemental video episode to follow – BJS016a: The Last Days of Frank Whyte (a short film with intro)!

This volume includes:

– BJS015: Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Thankful Pagans (Originally released 11/23/09)
If you listened to BJS002, you’ll remember I picked up props for T. Schreiber Studios’ production of “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.” Yesterday Melanie & I saw the show, and today I returned the props back to Anything But Costumes i Flemington, New Jersey. Later on, I attended the 19th annual Pagan Thanksgiving, hosted by two former college classmates – and Student Government Association presidents – of mine, Tony Susco and James “Appetite” Cotter.
– BJS016: Q&A at the Old Bridge Filmmakers Showcase (Originally released 11/28/09)
Three local New Jersey filmmakers participate in a Q&A session at the first installment of the Old Bridge Filmmakers Showcase at the Old Bridge Public Library. Hosted by Matt Helme, the filmmakers discuss their short films presented earlier in the afternoon. Marla Cukor discusses “The Masquerade” (directed by Natalia Garcia), a mystery thriller which she wrote, and which stars Christopher Masterson of TV’s “Malcolm in the Middle.” Jamal Hall talks about his short film “Strivin’,” a stylistic story about an inner city kid who dreams of becoming a dancer while coping with an abusive father. I ramble on about “The Last Days of Frank Whyte,” which I co-wrote, directed and produced with the film’s star Franklin Correa, and which tells the tale of a drug dealer’s downward spiral of life. (If you haven’t already, check out BJS016a – my first video episode which contains my film in its entirety.)
– BJS018: Crazy Nights (Originally released 12/14/09)
Join me as I talk about the Festival of Lights known as Hanukkah – the story behind it, our family’s observance of it and what it means to me as a non-Jew. I also discuss my Paramount Pictures hat given to me by Joe “Joey Pants” Pantoliano, Jacob’s “bad witch/good witch” dream, starting to live with “The Secret” and the controversy over “Happy Holidays.” Music by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair Choir.
– BJS019: I’ll Be Elvish For Solstice (Originally released 12/21/09)
Listen as I join fellow members of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair as we bring toys and books to the children of the Newton Street School in Newark, NJ, assisting Santa (as played by congregation member and television actor Andre Braugher). I interview fellow member Courtney Allen on our seven-year relationship with the school, and discuss the winter solstice, accepting the benefits of abundance, and New Moon rituals. Concludes with music by Mr. Steve and Miss Katie (used with permission).
– BJS020: Reflections on 2009 (Originally released 12/31/09)
I spend a few moments on the morning of New Year’s Eve reflecting on the positive moments of 2009, and why it’s critical to be grateful for the things we have in our life. I also discuss Facebook’s “My Year in Photos” application, the Facebook group “I Claim 2010 As the Year of Abundance,” and how the principals of Kwanzaa can apply to non-African-Americans as well.

The Brian Jude Show: NON-SUG Bundle #3 Supplemental: BJS016a: The Last Days of Frank Whyte (a short film with intro) (11/21/10)

16:43 – (Supplemental to BJS NON-SUG #3, originally released 11/28/09) My first video podcast! This supplemental episode contains a short film I co-wrote, directed & produced in 2004, and finally released to public in February 2009 via the interwebs. Today I screened it publicly for the first time at the Old Bridge Public Library in Old Bridge, NJ, as part of the first in their series of Local Filmmaker Showcases, along with two other films. After the films, a Q&A session was held with writer Marla Cukor, filmmaker Jamal Hall, and yours truly. Naturally I recorded that session for Ep. 16 of The Brian Jude Show – look for it soon! In the meantime, enjoy the film! (Note: This is NOT a film for kids. Strong language, violence, drug themes, etc. Rated “R,” if it were rated by the MPAA.)

The Brian Jude Show #45: Back to the Frajer (10/30/10)

30:02 – Last week was the 25th anniversary of the date in which Marty McFly (well, the dog Einstein, actually) became the first time traveler in “Back to the Future.” Melanie & I saw the remastered film in the theatre, and it still stands up after all these years. Makes me think about how our own realities can be shifted by simply putting your mind to it. A true example of that is my friend Jen Ponton, a most talented actress whose recent cameo/debut on NBC’s “30 Rock” just aired, including a scene that is destined to be one of the series’ most memorable moments.
