PriorCaster – Miles Tidal (1/9/22)

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is prior_caster_300.jpg

54:10– PriorCaster, by Bob LeMent of Static Radio and Morning Commute, seeks to document the people who were the pioneers of audio on the internet.

Miles Tidal is a reluctant internet radio pioneer.  He joined his co-host Bob LeMent on their internet radio ride, with little to no technical knowledge.  He just thought it would be fun.

He dabbled in radio during college at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and was asked to continue his role as co-host once graduated on StaticRadio.com.  His day job has no technical or internet connections, other than what any job has now a days. He just enjoys telling funny stories.

Tape Land 146 – TV Train Window (circa 1987)

40:08 – Welcome to Tape Land! On each episode, I’ll present the audio of a cassette tape or historic material from my personal archives.

This episode is part of a sub-project within Tape Land called “Video Phase 2022”. I recently began transferring a ton of old video tapes to digital, and have been posting selections to YouTube. Here, I’ll be releasing the audio tracks of these videos, as well as linking you to the YouTube videos.

TV Train Window (circa 1987)

https://youtu.be/3lOjQRK9oYI

I had my VHS camcorder with me on the train, so I decided to point it out the window and film the whole ride. I don’t have the exact date but it was around 1987. Traveling eastbound on the New Jersey Transit Morristown Line, starting in Chatham, arriving in Summit, then express to Newark Broad Street, and finally to Hoboken – it’s an amazing view of the world from the 1980s.
